Built on a Working Farm, by People Who Use It

Southern Roots Supplies sells heavy steel livestock equipment, hand-fabricated in Piedmont, Alabama by Singleton Cattle Panels and Cattle Systems. Gary Singleton has been building this equipment for decades on a 1,000-acre beef and bison operation. Every panel, gate, feeder, and cattle guard we sell comes out of his shop.

Why We Started This

For nine years Matthew and Jesie Lawrence ran a vertically-integrated regenerative livestock operation in Alabama. We raised beef, pork, poultry, lamb, and goat, and we built a USDA-inspected processing facility to handle it. In that time we bought a lot of equipment, and we learned which pieces you fight with every season and which ones you set once and forget.

The gates that sag. The panels that bend the first time a bull leans on them. The feeders that rust out in three years. You end up buying the same thing twice, sometimes three times, and the cheap one was never actually cheaper.

Gary builds the other kind. We sell it because we wish we'd had it.

What We Do

Standard configurations at published prices. You see what it costs on the page, you order it, and we build it. No haggling, no quotes to chase, no sales process.

What We Don't Do

We do not submit bids, respond to RFPs, or quote custom fabrication for government contracts. We sell to the people who will actually use this equipment on their own place.

Where We Are

Southern Roots Supplies, LLC is based in Talladega, Alabama. We handle the communication and coordination with you. Manufacturing and pickup are at Gary's facility in Piedmont, about an hour northeast. You're welcome to pick up your order there at no charge, and there's a set-up display on site if you want to put hands on something before you buy. We can also help arrange shipping to you if needed.
