Heavy Duty Steel 6-Bar Gate
These heavy-duty 6-bar gates help you control livestock flow on the farm. A variety of widths are available to meet your needs. You can use them as single or double gates. If used as double gates, you can choose to let them almost touch, to just barely touch, or to overlap them, whichever is your preference. These are designed for the pasture, rather than for the working pen.
The width listed is going to be the actual size of the steel bars, then you'll add a little extra for the connector eyes. This is different than your typical big box farm stores, which will often have gates that will count the hinge or fastener within the measurement listed (i.e. an 8' fence opening vs our 8' frame). Please account for about 1 ½" for hanging. This is key to keep in mind when allowing a space for the gate in your fence-building plans.
Gates come standard with 18" chain and hook, but you can change to a drop pin if needed (additional cost involved).
These are made with 1 ½" x ¾" Schedule 40 steel pipe, with vertical stays welded on to provide structural integrity. Gates are connected to panels with 1" eyes and ½" rod. The other side has a chain and receiver for fastening. On our own former farm, these gates are plenty sturdy enough to hold all 3 of our kids for a gate ride.
There's no cheap aluminum or low-grade steel in this design. This is a 50-year product. It's made by hand in Alabama on a 1,000-acre beef and bison farm, by farmers and for farmers.
Standard color is Red Oxide primer.
Because these are hand-made in small batches, we will need some lead time to get them ready for you (typically one to two weeks from order date). We will email you within 24 hrs with an expected ship or pickup date. You may pick them up at Southern Roots Supply in Talladega once your order is ready, or we can deliver them to you.
Delivery or transportation fees will be in addition to the listed product cost. With states surrounding Alabama, we can bring them ourselves for $1.75 a loaded mile, and states that are further away, we'll need to arrange a transportation company to pick them up. Delivery or transportation fees will be in addition to the listed product cost.
