Steel Cattle Guards, Built to Stay Put

A cattle guard only works if your stock won't cross it, and that comes down to two things: how it's built and how it's set. This one is built heavy and we'll tell you how to set it.

Choose heavy-duty or extra-heavy-duty, with or without gates, in 7' x 16', 7' x 19'3", or 7' x 20'.

• Heavy-duty: 1 ½" Schedule 40 steel pipe
• Extra-heavy-duty: 6" x 2" square tubing frame on 30" centers with 2 ½" Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 pipe
• Gates come standard with 18" chain and hook. Drop pin available at additional cost.
• Standard color is Red Oxide primer

Installation Set the guard slightly raised so livestock are reluctant to approach it. First dig down to depth, lay a weed barrier, then gravel for drainage, then set your guard. Keep soil and debris cleared from underneath, so the gap stays open. A cattle grid that fills in with soil and debris stops working, and that is the most common reason they fail in the field.

Pickup is free at our manufacturing facility in Piedmont, Alabama. If you need it delivered, freight is quoted separately by a local carrier based on your address and invoiced after your order.
