Steel Covered Hay Feeder
Keep your hay dry with this sturdy covered hay feeder. The most popular size is the 2-bale feeder, but there's also a 4-bale variety to accommodate more livestock or less-frequent feeding. Your dry hay will be less prone to mold to supply all the nutrition without the additional risk, while also reducing waste and feeding chores for your cattle, horse, goat, sheep, or other livestock.
There are short doors on the side held in place by removable pins to allow you to add your round bales with your tractor or other loader then close to lock the hay in place. The V-shape bottom holds the bales in place.
Many models have angle iron in place, so you could add a floor below the bales to either hold some supplemental feed, or to catch any dropped hay. Please contact us if this model is your preference.
These feeders have a sturdy steel heavy-duty design, with a frame made with 1 ½" Schedule 40 steel pipe. The metal roof is 12' wide to better protect hay from the weather, and also provide shade if you'd like to use this in the summer as a dual-purpose structure. It comes as one solid unit, so no assembly is required at your farm, ranch, or homestead. However, there may be extra transportation cost to get this to you due to its width.
This is a 50-year product. It's made by hand in Alabama on a 1,000-acre beef and bison farm, by farmers and for farmers.
Standard color is Red Oxide primer.
Because these are hand-made in small batches, we will need some lead time to get them ready for you (typically one to two weeks from order date). We will email you within 24 hrs with an expected ship or pickup date. You may pick them up at Southern Roots Supply in Talladega once your order is ready, or we can deliver them to you.
Delivery or transportation fees will be in addition to the listed product cost. With states surrounding Alabama, we can bring them ourselves for $1.75 a loaded mile, and states that are further away, we'll need to arrange a transportation company to pick them up. Delivery or transportation fees will be in addition to the listed product cost.
